NASHVILLE — Tennessee State senior forward Aaron Nkrumah has been named the OVC Men's Basketball Player of the Week after delivering a dominant two-game stretch that continued his strong start to the 2025–26 season.
Nkrumah averaged 23.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game while shooting an efficient 63.6 percent (14-of-22) from the field, 50 percent (6-of-12) from three, and 86.7 percent (13-of-15) at the free-throw line.
He opened the week with one of the most efficient offensive performances in the league this season, scoring 25 points in just 20 minutes against Oakwood. Nkrumah shot 8-of-10 from the floor and 5-of-7 from beyond the arc, adding five rebounds, an assist, a block, and a steal in the win.
On Sunday at Western Kentucky, Nkrumah followed with 22 points, connecting on 6-of-12 from the field and 9-of-11 at the line. He posted a near double-double with nine rebounds, while also tallying two assists and a steal.
Through four games, the Worcester, Mass., native ranks third in the OVC in scoring at 18.5 points per game, while averaging 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and shooting 46.8 percent from the field, 37.5 percent from three, and 84.0 percent at the line. Nkrumah has started all four contests, totaling 74 points, 24 rebounds, nine steals, and 10 assists on the season.
