NASHVILLE — Tennessee State senior guard Aaron Nkrumah has been named the OVC Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks after powering the Tigers to a 3–0 week and the championship of the UTC Coke Zero Classic.
Nkrumah averaged 17.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 steals and 4.3 assists while shooting 43.5% from the field across the three victories, including two away from home. He opened the week with a historic performance at UNC Asheville, where he set the Tennessee State single-game steals record with nine, surpassing Kinyon Hodges' previous mark of eight set on Feb. 24, 2024. Nkrumah added 18 points, six rebounds and five assists in the two-point road win, becoming one of the few Division I players this season to record nine steals in a game.
He followed with 16 points, six rebounds, five steals and three assists in a neutral-site win over Tennessee Wesleyan to help secure TSU's spot in the championship game. Nkrumah closed the week with 17 points, five assists and three rebounds in the Tigers' 70–64 victory over preseason Southern Conference favorite Chattanooga, sealing the tournament title.
Across the three-game stretch, Nkrumah totaled 15 steals, the highest three-game mark by any OVC player this season, and reached at least 16 points in all three contests. His two-way consistency has vaulted him among the national leaders in steals, ranking fifth in Division I at 3.38 per game.
