INDIANAPOLIS – Tennessee State women's indoor track and field team finished sixth at the OVC Championship on Wednesday.
Natalya Bryant, a senior, stood out in the women's pentathlon, winning the 800m with an impressive time of 2:27.04. She placed third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.95 seconds, ninth in the high jump (1.44m), seventh in the long jump (4.95m), and fifth in the shot put (9.89m). Despite facing tough competition, Bryant finished fourth overall with 3,273 points, highlighting her versatility.
TSU's women's 4x400m relay team, featuring Sanura Branigan, Syriah Boyd, Selena Carlye, and Serenity Harry, placed fifth with a time of 3:53.74.
Serenity Harry shined in the women's 60m final, finishing third in 7.64 seconds, and competed fiercely in the 200m final, placing fourth in 24.44 seconds. Sanura Branigan followed closely, finishing sixth in 24.75 seconds.
In the women's 60m hurdles final, Kaitlyn Cook displayed agility and speed, securing third place in 8.70 seconds. Kara Stewart placed sixth (8.74 seconds), while Bryant finished eighth (8.85 seconds).
Cook also excelled in the women's triple jump, finishing third with a mark of 12.13m. In the long jump, she placed 11th (5.40m). Ayana Pugh finished 10th in the shot put (12.40m), with Carolyn McRee placing 14th (10.39m). Pugh also secured ninth in the weight throw (14.67m), while McRee placed 13th (13.35m).
