NASHVILLE — Former Tennessee State University Tigerbelle Amber Hughes has qualified for the 2025 World Athletics Indoor Championships, set to take place March 21-23 in Nanjing, China.

Hughes secured her spot in the 60-meter hurdles after clocking a 7.94-second finish at the Clemson Indoor Track & Field Complex on Feb. 14, 2025. She is one of three athletes representing Team USA and currently ranks 12th among 37 qualifiers.

A decorated athlete during her time at TSU, Hughes was a 2017 All-American, a six-time OVC Athlete of the Year, a two-time championship MVP, and a two-time OVC Freshman of the Year.
