NASHVILLE – Tennessee State University's Kaitlin Cook has qualified for the 2025 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field East Preliminary Championships in the women's triple jump after a standout performance during the outdoor season.

Cook secured her spot with a personal-best jump of 12.88 meters (42' 3.25") to win the event at the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Her championship-winning mark ranks her 32nd in the East Region, earning her a place in the second flight of competition at the NCAA Regionals.

Cook's journey to Jacksonville, Florida, has been marked by consistent improvement throughout the season. She opened with a jump of 12.16 meters (39' 10.75") at the River City Relays in early March, followed by marks of 11.99 meters (39' 4") at the Morehouse Relays and 12.15 meters (39' 10.5") at the Outdoor Music City Challenge in May, before peaking with her best effort at the OVC Championships.

Cook will compete at the NCAA East Prelims from May 21–24 at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida. The top 12 finishers in the event will advance to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
