Men’s Golf Notches Top-10 Finish at Colonel Shootout

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Tennessee State men's golf team turned in a steady final round to tie for ninth at the Colonel Classic, closing the 54-hole event with a team score of 887 at The University Club at Arlington.

The Tigers carded rounds of 301, 295, and 291 across three days of competition to finish alongside Kentucky State in the nine-team field.

Leading the Way
Freshman Jackson Pieratt paced Tennessee State with a three-round total of 218 (+8), highlighted by an even-par 70 in the final round to place in a tie for 28th overall. Close behind was Quincy Robert, who also posted a closing 70 to finish tied for 34th at 219 (+9).

Team Contributions
Sophomore Sampo Ståhl provided consistency with rounds of 74, 73, and 76 for a 223 (+13), good for 44th place. Isaac Napier added a 227 (+17), while Seojin Yoon closed with a 79 (+9) in the final round to finish at 249.

The Field
Longwood claimed the team title at 823, followed closely by Eastern Kentucky at 828. Morehead State rounded out the top three at 842.

Tennessee State will return to action in October as the Tigers continue their fall slate of tournaments.
