MADISON, Ill. — Tennessee State men's golf closed competition at the Dolenc Invitational on Tuesday at Gateway National Golf Links, finishing tied for 15th in the 19-team field. The Tigers posted a 54-hole score of 874 (+22), matching Missouri State on the final leaderboard .
Individually, freshman Jackson Pieratt led TSU with a steady performance, carding rounds of 72, 68 and 72 to finish at even par (212) and tie for 29th overall. Pieratt's second-round 66 was among the lowest rounds of the tournament.
Two Tigers tied at 51st: Sampo Ståhl and Quincy Robert, each posting a three-round total of 215 (+3). Ståhl shot 75, 69 and 71, while Robert finished with rounds of 73, 69 and 73 .
Bo Twerdahl carded a 232 (+19) after rounds of 76, 78 and 78, placing 91st. Rounding out the TSU lineup, Isaac Napier finished 99th with a total of 248 (+35) following rounds of 85, 81 and 82 .
The tournament featured a competitive field, with Idaho winning the team title at 31-under par (821), while Weber State's Matthew Wilson and Idaho's Samuel Johnson shared medalist honors at 14-under (199) .
Tennessee State will return to action October 6-7 at the Bubba Barnett Invitational in State University, Arkansas.
