BRENTWOOD, Tenn. — Tennessee State men's golfer Quincy Robert has been named Golfer of the Week following his standout performance at the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate, earning the first weekly honor of his collegiate career and marking the program's first Golfer of the Week selection since 2023.
Robert captured co-medalist honors at the tournament, finishing atop the leaderboard at 5-under par to secure his first collegiate victory. Competing on Tennessee State's home course at Hermitage Golf Course – Presidents Reserve, Robert delivered consistent play across all three rounds to lead the Tigers to a third-place team finish.
The Tennessee State standout opened the tournament with consecutive rounds of 69 before closing with a 70 in the final round. His steady scoring and composure throughout the event kept him among the leaders from start to finish and highlighted one of the strongest individual performances of the season for the Tigers.
Robert's performance helped Tennessee State post a team total of +12 and earn a podium finish against a competitive field. His individual title represented a breakthrough moment in his collegiate career and played a key role in the Tigers' success during their home event.
When asked about the victory, Coach Parrish McGrath said "Quincy was ready for this moment. He has been grinding all year and it's good to see him get a win at our home event. To go bogey free on his final round was a testament to his focus and resilience. So happy for him. Very deserving victory."
The weekly honor recognizes Robert's consistency, leadership, and impact performance as Tennessee State builds momentum heading into the final stretch of the spring season and upcoming postseason play.
