Nashville, Tenn. - In two days, the women's tennis team
dropped consecutive conference matches when Tennessee State University fell 7-0 to
UT Martin at the TSU Tennis Complex on Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers move to 0-2 overall with an identical record in league play. The Skyhawks improve to 3-2 on the year posting their first
conference win with a 1-0 record in the OVC.
TSU was swept in singles and doubles competition playing an eight-point
pro-set in doubles play losing three straight, 8-0 (No.1), 8-1 (No.2) and
8-0 (No.3).
The team of Lia Stewart and Kryston Mason (No.2) were the only pair to post a game point falling to UTM's Alice Laing and Jodie Tiley,
8-1.
In singles competition, TSU was blanked in all matches and sets (6-0) with
the exception of Mason's 6-0, 6-1, loss to Anna Winklemann in No. 4 play.
TSU Tennis will return to action when the men and women's teams head to
Morehead State for conference play. The match is scheduled for Friday, March
19, at 3 p.m. on the Sadler Courts.
