NASHVILLE --- Three Tigerbelles earned three top spots at the 2019 Purdue Fred Wilt Open to kick off the indoor season for the women’s track and field team, Saturday in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Amani Taylor placed first in the weight throw with a pitch of 18.14 meters, while Mikayla Thompson notched a 14.61m toss in the shot put, followed closely by junior Rebekah Wynn who placed first in the 800m, crossing the finish line in 2:27.81.
Overall, the Tigerbelles had 12 individuals and a relay team place top five.
The Tigerbelles return to competition Jan. 5 for its sole home meet of the season – the Ed Temple Classic held on the Wilma Ruldolph Indoor Track inside the Gentry Center.
