R'Lazon Brumfield led The Tennessee State Flying Tigers men's indoor track and field team with a first-place finish in the Triple Jump at the Vanderbilt Invitational held this past weekend.
Brumfield set the pace with a 16.29 mark and beat the opposition by a full meter. His mark was just 0.52m short of the facility record.
Brumfield also finished fifth in the long jump with a distance of 7.42m. He was 0.29m short of the winner from MTSU.
On the track, Brumfield finished 10
th in the 200m in 22.02.
Micah Rogers and Derrick Redmon rounded out the top-20 with times of 22.71 and 22.76, respectively.
Michael Thompson secured a top 10 finish in the 400m with a time of 49.57
Jon'terio Horton finished in fifth-place finish in the high jump with a 1.95m mark and sixth in the triple jump.
The Flying Tigers are back in action at the Samford Bulldog Invitational the weekend of Feb. 11-12.
