WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Tennessee State University women's track and field team opened their 2022-23 Indoor track and field season at Purdue University on Saturday afternoon. The TigerBelles had eight top-five finishers and three event winners at the Edmonds-Wilt Invitational.
Sanura Branigan was one of three event winners for the TigerBelles as she took first in the 200-meter run with a time of 25.42.
Serenity Harry earned third place in the event with a 25.87 followed by
Jordyn Perkins (26.19), and Sydney McGee (26.50).
Sydney McGee was the second event winner for TSU, taking first in the 400-meter run with a 59.80.
Elaina Housworth took home first place in the triple jump, with a mark of 12.34, while placing fifth in the long jump with a mark of 5.64m.
Catherine Forbes notches a fourth-place finish in the triple jump with an 11.45m jump.
Leilany Laureano earned third in the shot put with a toss of 12.8m.
TSU will be back in action after the Christmas Break when they host the Ed Temple Classic on January 7.
