Oxford, Miss. — The Tennessee State University Tigerbelles opened up the outdoor track and field season at the Ole Miss Classic over the weekend. 

The Tigerbelles finished with six top-10 performances. 

TSU had a top-eight finish in the 200m with Sanura Branign crossing the line in 24.98. 

Reyna Sawyer placed 10th in the 400m in 57.78.

Emani Johnson finished fifth in the 400m hurdles in 1:03.95 and then placed 13th in the 100m in 12.64.

In the 100m hurdles, Jayda Drake Howard finished eighth in 14.80. 

Johnson and Drake Howard then competed in the 4x400 along with Amaya Moore and Taryn Henry and finished fifth (3:59.80) ahead of TSU's other squad of Sawyer, Dreeanna Wade, Zora Boddie and Branigan (3:59.89).
