Flying Tigers Finish Fifth at KSU Invitational

KENNESAW, Ga. — The Tennessee State University Flying Tigers finished fifth out of a field of 15 teams at the Kennesaw State University Invitational over the weekend. 

R'Lzaon Brumfield led the Flying Tigers with a win in the triple jump (15.93m) and a second-place finish in the long jump (7.85m). 

Keandric Verge gained valuable points for the Tigers as he placed third in the triple jump behind Brumfield. Verge's distance was 14.93m. Jon'Terio Horton added three team points for his seventh-place finish in the high jump clearing 1.90m.

On the track, the Flying Tigers got eight points as they tied for second in the 4x400m relay crossing in 3:15.16. 

Kiyontae Warren finished sixth in the 400m hurdles in 54.99 and Zavante Chichester (14.93) and Hasani Williams (15.69) went back-to-back seventh-and-eighth-place in the 110m hurdles. 

Thaddee Barge finished sixth in the 800m in 1:55.70. Tyjhir Joyner recorded points in the 200m dash in eighth place at 21.84. Micah Rogers also added team points with his 16th place run in the 100m. 

The Flying Tigers will sit idle until the Music City Challenge on April 29-30.
