LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Tennessee State men's track and field team picked up their second straight first-place finish as they dominated in Louisville Urban League KSU HBCU Indoor Classic on Monday afternoon, running away with the event with 205 total points, followed by Bluefield State who earned second with 93 points.
The Flying Tigers racked up 10 first-place finishes on the afternoon, while the 4x400 relay team also earned the gold. TSU also had 20 top-three finishers.
In the running events,
Thurman McMullen finished in first place in the 60m hurdles after clocking an 8.63.
Anthony Ward took home first in the 200m dash with a time of 22.31.
TSU took home the top three spots in the 400m dash with
Morgan Jones taking home first after running a 50.23.
Robert Hooper had a big day for the Flying Tigers as he took home first in the 800m (2:00.00) and in the one-mile race (4:36.06).
Jon'Terio Horton spearheaded the high jump as he leaped a 1.95 to take home first place.
David Dorsey finished with a jump of 7.32m in the long jump to earn first place, while
Keandric Verge took home first in the triple jump with a leap of 15.01m.
Justin Biggs tossed the shot put 13.91m to earn first place, while
Forrest Saffo earned first in the weight throw with a toss of 17.28m.
