DULUTH, Ga. – Erin Marcelino finished in third place to lead the Tennessee State women's golf team as they competed in the HBCU Bridgestone Invitational hosted by the Black College Golf Coaches Association over the course of the past two days. The Tigers logged a 699 (348, 337) to finish in fourth place out of five teams.
Marcelino shot a 78 in round one on Wednesday and a 79 this afternoon to total a 157 and a third-place finish in the two-round event.
Trixie Sabulao finished just outside of the top 10 as she came in 12
th place with a 174 (88, 86).
Lucia Pantigozo finished tied for 14
th after firing a 181 (90, 91).
TaLese Vaughn showed made great adjustments from round one to round two as she cut 15 strokes off her round one score today to finish tied for 18
th with a 187 (101, 86).
Sabria Feagins rounded out TSU's lineup with a 214 (110, 104), which placed her in 22
nd.
Marcelino led the field in par 5 scoring opportunities as she finished -4. She finished tied for the lead in birdies with seven.
This marked the final event for TSU this fall. The Tigers will open their spring slate on March 11 as they will host the Starks Invitational.
