MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. – The Tennessee State women's golf team opened play in the Ohio Valley Conference Championship 54-hole event with 18 holes on Sunday afternoon at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at the Shoals. The Tigers shot a 339 to finish ahead of Eastern Illinois and Southern Indiana as they are in 5^th place after round one.
 
The Tigers had to battle wind and cool temperatures, but Erin Marcelino still had quite the first round for TSU. Marcelino is tied for 6^th place with a 78 after the first 18 holes. Alexandra Sadler sits three strokes back with an 81 which has her tied for 15^th.
 
Kalee Rhodes resides within the top 30 after round one as she tallied an 88 to finish in 27^th. Lucia Pantigozo shot a 92 to finish tied for 31^st. Kennedy Bentley was forced to withdraw from round one due to injury.
 
The Tigers will continue play at the Shoals tomorrow with round two.
