NASHVILLE – The Tennessee State men's track and field team competed at the Music City Challenge, hosted by Vanderbilt, on Friday and Saturday.
In the Men's 400 Meters,
Quest Agee finished at 49.30 seconds, in 11th, followed by
Evan Echols, also a freshman, at 51.20 seconds, coming in 19th.
Terry Landry finished in 52.80 seconds, in 22nd, and
Jevion Kinkle clocked in at 52.94 seconds, logging a 23
rd place mark.
In the Men's 800 Meters,
Robert Hooper and
Thaddee Barge, both freshmen, clocked in at 1:53.62 and 1:53.79, respectively, coming in 13th and 14th.
In the Men's 1500 Meters,
Sunny Quinn finished in 4:22.03, coming in 28
th.
In the Men's 110 Hurdles Preliminaries,
Zavante Chichester, a senior, finished in 14.57 seconds, ranking 4th, while
Thurman McMullen, a freshman, clocked in at 14.64 seconds, ranking 5th. In Heat 1, Chichester finished in 14.57 seconds, followed by McMullen in 14.64 seconds. In Heat 3,
Israel Fayne, a freshman, clocked in at 16.18 seconds, ranking 15th.
In the Men's 110 Hurdles Finals,
Zavante Chichester finished in 14.47 to land in 3rd, while
Thurman McMullen clocked in at 14.62 seconds one spot back in 4
th place.
In men's 400 hurdles, Chichester finished 10th with a time of 59.90 seconds.
In men's 4 x 100 relay, TSU's team of
Anthony Ward,
Quest Agee,
Christian White, and
Thurman McMullen finished 6th with a time of 42.40 seconds.
In men's 4 x 400 relay,
Thurman McMullen,
Quest Agee,
Nigel Simon Jr, and
Evan Echols finished 2nd with a time of 3:19.24.
In men's high jump
Jon'Terio Horton finished 5th with a mark of 1.91m (6' 3.25").
Keandric Verge finished 3rd with a mark of 6.99m (22' 11.25") in the men's long jump while
Anthony Ward finished 4th with a mark of 6.94m (22' 9.25").
Christian White finished 8th with a mark of 6.76m (22' 2.25").
In men's triple jump,
Kenyon Johnson finished 1st with a mark of 15.49m (50' 10"), followed by Verge in 2nd with a mark of 15.39m (50' 6"),
Anthony Ward in 3rd with a mark of 14.36m (47' 1.5"),
Jon'Terio Horton in 5th with a mark of 14.02m (46' 0"), and
Christian White in 8th with a mark of 13.30m (43' 7.75").
In men's shot put, Tennessee St.'s
Justin Biggs finished 7th with a mark of 13.72m (45' 0.25"), while Jairus Stewart finished 9th with a mark of 12.83m (42' 1.25").
The Flying Tigers will be back in action on May 11-13 as they will compete in the Ohio Valley Conference Championships.
