SHOAL CREEK, Ala. – The Tennessee State women's golf team will look to make a jump in the leaderboards on Tuesday afternoon as they played 18 holes in round one of the PGA WORKS Collegiate Championships on Monday afternoon to finish in 7
th place. TSU carded a 312 on the afternoon for their team score.
Erin Marcelino sits just outside of the top 10 as she tallied a 75 to finish tied for 13
th.
Lucia Pantigozo finds herself just inside the top 20 as she carded a 76, which has her tied for 19
th.
Kalee Rhodes fired an 80 to finish tied for 36
th, while
Alexandra Sadler finished one stroke back with an 81 to finish tied for 38
th.
Sabria Feagins rounds out TSU's lineup as she is in 53
rd after logging a 101.
Marcelino is currently second in the field with 14 pars.
The Tigers will be back in action tomorrow morning with round two of the 54-hole event.
Fans can watch the event on the Golf Channel Monday-Wednesday as the event will be aired from 3:30-6:30 p.m. each day.
The event is the most culturally significant championship in collegiate golf, as it annually hosts student-athletes enrolled in Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic-Serving Institutions, and other Minority-Serving Educational Institutions. 204 students from 68 schools competed in 2022.
