RICHMOND, Ky. – The Tennessee State men's golf team came away with a 10th-place finish out of 12 teams after competing in Colonel Shootout, their first tournament of the 2023-24 season. The Tigers finished with a 901 (+61) in the three-round event that was played at the University Club at Arlington. TSU played 36 holes on Thursday, followed by 18 on Friday.
First-year Tiger
Cayden Chambers led the Tigers in the event as he carded a 214 for his three-round score. Chambers, who tied for 20
th tallied a 71 in round one, followed by a 70 in round two, which was the best TSU score of the event. The junior transfer tallied a 73 in his final round to finish +4 in the tournament.
Jared Southerland (225) showed lots of consistency as he carded a 75 in all three rounds. The Kentucky native finished tied for 65
th overall.
Isaac Napier tallied a 76, 75, and 80 in rounds one, two, and three to finish tied for 77
th with a 231.
Carter Walton and freshman
Bo Twerdahl both finished tied for 79
th as they fired 234s for their three-round score.
