MURFREESBORO, Tenn.– Tennessee State University indoor men's track and field teams started its indoor season with a dual meet against Middle Tennessee State at the Dean Hayes Classic.
55-Meter: Sophomore Joshua McClendon secured tied for second place with a time of 6.57 seconds, closely followed by sophomore Oladipo Akomolafe in fourth place at 6.58 seconds.
55-Meter Hurdles: Bobby Teixeria won in 7.92 and was followed by Biran Townsend in 8.01.
200-Meter: Oladipo Akomolafe continued his strong showing, tying for second place with a time of 21.89 seconds. Joshua McClendon finished fourth at 22.32 seconds, and sophomore Quest Agee placed sixth with a time of 22.43 seconds.
400-Meter: Quest Agee achieved a commendable second-place finish, clocking in at 49.20 seconds.
600-Meter: Devin Jones finished in first place with a 1:19.72 mark. Kylen Thorp finished third in 1:22.18.
800-Meter: Devin Jones finished in first place with a 1:56.58 mark. Kylen Thorp finished third in 1:59.99.
Men's Mile: Robert Hooper continued his long-distance running, winning in 4:29.92.
4x400 Meter Relay: The TSU men's relay team delivered a solid performance, finishing in second and third place. The second place team finished in 3:21.75 — Devin Jones, Morgan Jones, Joshua McClendon and Oladipo Akomolafe. The third place group finished in 3:26.11 — Nigel Simon, Kylen Thorp, Robert Hooper and Quest Agee.
Men's High Jump: TSU finished in the top three positions with Jonathan Wade finished first in 1.90m followed by Avery McKinnon in second (1.87m) and Korbin Brown in third (1.87m).
Men's High Jump: TSU had three of the top four finishes. Kolby Jones finished second (14.17m), Avery McKinnon in third (13.82m) and Christian White in fourth (13.37m).
Men's Shot Put: Garrison Holland finished in first with an 11.30m mark.
