NASHVILLE - Tennessee State women's golfer Erin Marcelino has once again earned recognition for her outstanding performance on the course, as she was named to the All-Ohio Valley Conference Team. This accolade marks Marcelino's second consecutive postseason award, following her selection to the All-OVC Newcomer team last year as a freshman.

Hailing from Florida, Marcelino has showcased her talent and consistency throughout the season, competing in seven matches, including four in the fall and three in the spring. Her remarkable skill is evidenced by her low score of 72, achieved on three separate occasions during the current season.

Over the course of 18 rounds, Marcelino has amassed a total of 1397 strokes, averaging an impressive 77.6 strokes per round. Her stellar performances have resulted in three top-five finishes and four top-ten finishes, highlighting her competitiveness and ability to excel under pressure.

Notably, Marcelino secured a first-place finish in the Starks Invitational earlier this spring, posting a two-round score of 145.

Reflecting on Marcelino's growth as a player, TSU head golf coach Parrish McGrath remarked, "The biggest adjustment I've seen Erin make from last year to now is how fast she can completely put the past behind her after a tough hole. The ability to remember is not nearly as important as the ability to forget for top-level golfers."

Tomorrow morning, Marcelino, currently sharing seventh place in the OVC Tournament, will return to action alongside her fellow Tigers as they prepare to tee off for round two of the three-round event.
