MURRAY, Ky. - In their final event of the regular season ahead of the OVC Tournament, the Tennessee State women's golf team competed in the Jan Weaver Invitational hosted by Murray State over the weekend. The Tigers faced off at the Miller Memorial Golf Course, playing 36 holes on the first day and concluding with 18 holes on the this afternoon.

Unfortunately, the Tigers found themselves at the bottom of the leaderboard, finishing 5th out of 5 teams with a total score of 991 strokes. Despite their team placing, there were standout individual performances from TSU players.

Leading the charge for Tennessee State was Erin Marcelino, who finished tied for 9th place overall. Marcelino battled back after a tough first round carding rounds of 86, 72, and 74 for a total score of 232 strokes.

Following Marcelino was Lucia Pantigozo, who secured the 19th position with scores of 83, 77, and 81, totaling 241 strokes. Trixie Sabuloa contributed to the team effort with rounds of 81, 84, and 87, finishing in 23rd place overall with a total score of 252 strokes.

Rounding out the Tennessee State lineup was TaLese Vaughn, who posted scores of 91, 87, and 88, landing her in 24th place with a total of 266 strokes.

The Tigers will now prepare for the upcoming OVC Tournament scheduled for April 14-16.
