NASHVILLE — Tennessee State's Robert Hooper delivered a standout performance to claim the top spot at the 2024 Michael Pretorius Memorial Cross Country Invitational. Hooper crossed the finish line with a time of 26:28.3, securing first place for Tennessee State and finishing over a minute ahead of the second-place runner.

Competing in overcast, rainy conditions with temperatures hovering at 65°F, Hooper's endurance and pace were evident throughout the 8,000-meter race held at Percy Warner Park. His victory helped Tennessee State achieve a fourth-place team finish overall, with a total score of 105 points.
