NASHVILLE - The Tennessee State Men's and Women's Cross Country teams opened the 2025 season at the Belmont Opener at Percy Warner Park on Friday morning. Both ran a 5K and notched their first 7th-place finish of the season.
Men | 5K
Robert Hooper led the way for the Tigers with a top-25 finish. Hooper garnered a time of 16:04.29 to take 21st place.
Freshman
Aaron Davis impressed in his first collegiate race, running as high as 12th on the opening lap before finishing 47th in 17:57.18. Fellow newcomer
Landon Thrasher also turned in a solid debut, taking 51st in 18:44.46.
Veterans
Delton White (52nd, 18:50.17) and
Zavier Williams (54th, 20:18.60) rounded out the Tigers, giving TSU a full scoring lineup.
Women | 5K
The TSU women placed five runners within six spots of each other, showing tight pack running and strong team chemistry.
Quinn Hudson was TSU's top finisher for the women, finishing in 39th place with a 25:26.99.
Giah Thomas finished right behind in 40th place with her best time yet (26.41.76).
Serenity Harry claimed a 41st-place finish with a 26:46.33, while
Sydney McGee ended up in 42nd with a 26:50.05.
Maleia Ali took 43rd place (27:14.24), while
Madison Smith picked up a 44th-place finish in her Tiger debut.
Zoey Washington rounded out the runners for TSU with a 45th-place finish with a time of 31:53.91
Both teams will be back in action on September 27th as they compete in the Michael Pertorius Invite.
