Men's Track Excels at OVC Indoor Championships With Fourth Place Finish

INDIANAPOLIS – Tennessee State men's indoor track and field team had a superb finish at the OVC Championships finishing fourth out of 10 teams.

In the men's heptathlon, Kylen Thorp and Israel Fayne competed in grueling events. Thorp dominated the 1,000m, placing first in 2:40.56, while Fayne finished ninth in 3:26.18. Thorp also placed sixth in the 60m (7.34 seconds) and ninth in the 60m hurdles (9.10 seconds), while Fayne secured sixth in the 60m hurdles (8.92 seconds) and seventh in the 60m (7.39 seconds). In the high jump, Fayne finished fourth (1.87m), with Thorp placing seventh (1.72m). The long jump saw Thorp place sixth (6.56m) and Fayne seventh (6.39m). In the shot put, Fayne finished seventh (10.38m), and Thorp placed 10th (8.73m). Thorp ended the competition eighth overall with 4,216 points, while Fayne finished ninth with 4,121 points.

In the men's 4x400m final, Quest Agee, Oladipo Akomolafe, Joshua McClendon, and Morgan Jones delivered an outstanding performance, securing first place with a time of 3:13.71.

Caleb Joshway placed fifth in the men's 60m final (6.91 seconds) and second in the 200m final (21.49 seconds), with Akomolafe finishing sixth (21.85 seconds). In the 400m final, McClendon finished third (48.58 seconds), while Jones placed fifth (48.87 seconds).

In the men's 800m final, Robert Hooper had a solid performance, finishing fourth in 1:52.67.

The men's high jump final saw Johnathan Wade place eighth (1.97m), while Avery McKennon finished 15th (1.87m).

In the men's long jump, Korbin Brown placed seventh (7.05m), Kolby Jones finished ninth (6.83m), and McKennon placed 14th (6.18m).

McKennon had an impressive showing in the men's triple jump, finishing third with a jump of 14.77m. Jones placed seventh (14.21m), while Brown finished 10th (13.85m).
