Eugene, Ore.- Devin Jones and Avery McKinnon deliver standout performances at the Nike Outdoor Nationals & USATF u20 Championships in Eugene, Ore, both securing top-10 finishes. Jones set his personal record to take 5th place in the 800m, while took 9th place in the triple jump.
Jones continued his successful season with a 5th place in the 800m finish with a personal best time of 1:49.89 in the final—surpassing his previous best of 1:51.04, set earlier this spring at the Georgia Tech Invitational. After advancing through the prelims with a time of 1:50.70, Jones climbed from sixth to fifth in the finals, solidifying his status as one of the top young middle-distance runners in the country.
In the field events, Avery McKinnon impressed with a ninth-place finish in the triple jump, landing a mark of 14.58m (47'10")—his third-best jump of the season. McKinnon capped a strong debut year with a top-10 national showing against elite competition.
