Track and Field With Six PRs At The Ed Temple Invitational

NASHVILLE — Tennessee State track and field opened the indoor season in strong fashion Saturday at the Ed Temple Indoor Track Meet inside the Gentry Center, highlighted by event victories, personal records, and podium finishes across sprints, hurdles, and jumps.

The Tigers were dominant in the men's 55-meter dash, led by Caleb Joshway, who captured first place with a personal-record time of 6.36 seconds. Joshway advanced through the preliminaries before pulling away in the final to secure the win on his home track. Tennessee State showcased its sprint depth in the event, placing five athletes in the top 10, including Damon Jackson (fourth, 6.64), Dont'e Branes, Kai Bruce, and Jonathan Wade.

On the women's side, Serenity Harry delivered a standout performance in the 55-meter dash, winning the event with a time of 7.14 seconds. Harry also posted the fastest qualifying time in the preliminaries, completing a consistent and dominant day in the short sprints for the Lady Tigers.

Tennessee State also found success in the hurdles, as Bryce Sparks earned a first-place finish in the men's 55-meter hurdles, crossing the line in a personal-best 7.73 seconds to add another event title for the Tigers.

In the field events, TSU's jumpers turned in an impressive series of performances. Dont'e Branes doubled up with a first-place finish in the men's long jump, recording a personal-best mark of 6.77 meters. The Tigers placed multiple athletes near the top of the standings, with Zavier Williams posting a personal record of 6.66 meters to finish third, and Israel Fayne adding a solid jump of 6.57 meters.

On the women's side of the long jump, Olivia Allison delivered one of the top performances of the meet for the Lady Tigers, finishing second overall with a personal-best leap of 5.37 meters.

With victories on the track, multiple personal records in the field, and strong depth across events, Tennessee State delivered an impressive opening performance at the Ed Temple Indoor Track Meet. The Tigers' early-season success set a positive tone as they continue through the indoor schedule.
