Track and Field Notch Four Wins at the Dean Hayes Indoor Classic

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Tennessee State track and field wrapped up the regular-season portion of its indoor schedule on Friday at the Dean Hayes Indoor Classic, hosted by Middle Tennessee, closing the campaign with event wins, personal records, and strong momentum heading into postseason competition.

The Tigers capped the indoor season with four event victories. Bryce Sparks led the way on the track, claiming the men's 55-meter hurdles title with a winning time of 7.80. Devin Jones followed with a season-defining performance in the men's 400 meters, winning the event in a personal-best 49.22. In the field, Kolby Jones secured the men's triple jump crown with a mark of 14.18 meters, while Carolyn McRee continued her standout indoor campaign by winning the women's shot put at 12.50 meters, a personal record.

Tennessee State also showcased depth in the sprint events. Damon Jackson finished third in the men's 55-meter dash finals with a personal-best 6.47, while Dont'e Branes and Jonathan Wade added PR performances of their own. The men's 4x400-meter relay 'A' team closed the meet with a second-place finish, posting a time of 3:23.00.

Across the indoor season, the Tigers consistently posted personal bests and podium finishes, highlighting growth across both the track and field groups as the team prepares for championship competition.
