MEN'S PREVIEW
Tennessee State enters the outdoor opener with momentum following a gold medal performance in the 4x400-meter relay and silver and bronze finishes in the 800 meters at the conference championships.
On the track, Caleb Joshway headlines the sprint group after qualifying for finals in both the 60 and 200 meters during indoor season. He is set to compete in both the 100 meters and 200 meters this weekend, joined by Damon Jackson, Jayen Guy, and Jamil Tucker in a deep sprint corps.
In the 400 meters, Joshua McClendon returns after a fourth-place indoor finish and will look to build on that performance alongside Devin Jones, who also contributed to the gold medal 4x400 relay squad. The same relay core — Jones, McClendon, Kylen Thorps, and Robert Hooper — is slated to compete in the 4x400 relay, where TSU posted a strong early outdoor mark.
Middle distance remains a strength for the Tigers, with Hooper leading the 800-meter group after earning bronze indoors. Delton White and Aaron Davis will also compete in the 800 and 1500 meters.
In the hurdles, indoor finalist Bobby Teixeira leads the group in the 110-meter hurdles, joined by Brian Townsend and Bryce Sparks.
Field events will once again be a key contributor. Jonathan Wade, a silver medalist in the indoor high jump, returns in both the high jump and horizontal jumps. Kolby Jones, who earned bronze in the indoor triple jump, headlines that event alongside a strong group including Dont'e Branes and Zavier Williams. In the throws, Sam White will compete in the shot put, discus, and hammer to lead the Tigers' efforts.
WOMEN'S PREVIEW
The TSU women are led by Serenity Harry, who closed the indoor season with a bronze medal in the 60 meters and a fourth-place finish in the 200. Harry will compete in both the 100 meters and 200 meters this weekend, anchoring the sprint group.
She is joined by A'Marie Khan, Syncere Harrison, and Kaymin Sales, who will compete across the 100, 200, and 400 meters. Sales also returns in the 400 after gaining experience during the indoor season.
In the hurdles, Kara Stewart and Pearl Onwnmbiko return after both scoring at the OVC Indoor Championships. The duo will compete in the 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles.
Middle-distance action includes Sydney McGee in the 800 meters, while Quinn Hudson will compete in the 400-meter hurdles.
In the field events, Olivia Allison leads the horizontal jumps after scoring in the indoor triple jump and will compete in both the long jump and triple jump. In the throws, Ayana Pugh and Carolyn McRee return after scoring during indoor season and will compete in the shot put, discus, and hammer throw.
