NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee State softball team continues Ohio Valley Conference play this weekend as the Tigers travel to face the Morehead State Eagles in a three-game road series April 11–12 in Morehead, Kentucky.
First pitch is scheduled for Saturday at 12 p.m. CT and 2:30 p.m. CT, followed by Sunday's series finale at 12 p.m. CT. All three contests will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Tennessee State enters the weekend looking to build momentum in conference play after showing continued offensive production and competitive innings in recent outings. The Tigers have consistently generated traffic on the bases behind timely hitting performances from Jace Jackson, Jasmine Blackburn and Mariyah Brown, while the pitching staff continues to gain valuable innings heading into the stretch run of the OVC season.
Series History
The matchup has recently favored Tennessee State, as the Tigers have won nine of the last 10 meetings against Morehead State dating back to the 2022 season. TSU swept the Eagles during the 2025 series at Tiger Field, earning victories of 12-2 (five innings) and two 8-0 shutouts.
Last season, Tennessee State also captured two of three games on the road in Morehead, including decisive wins of 15-3 and 4-3. The Tigers have consistently found success against the Eagles in recent years, turning the matchup into one of their most productive conference series.
Keys for the Tigers
Tennessee State will look to continue its aggressive offensive approach early in games while tightening defensive execution. The Tigers have shown the ability to respond to adversity and produce big innings, a trend they hope to carry into the weekend road series.
Strong starts in the circle will also be a focal point as TSU aims to control momentum against a Morehead State squad that traditionally plays well at home.
Up Next
Following the weekend series, Tennessee State will continue conference action as the regular season moves toward its final weeks, with positioning in the Ohio Valley Conference standings becoming increasingly important.
