NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee State University men's and women's tennis teams faced off against the SIUE men's and women's tennis teams at the TSU Tennis Courts on Sunday afternoon.

The men's team (0-6, -2 OVC) fell 5-1 to SIUE (6-6, 1-1 OVC) while the women's team (0-3, 0-2 OVC) fell to the SIUE women's team (6-7, 2-0 OVC) by a score of 6-0.

Daniel Bernal offered the lone match-up win for the men's side as he defeated Tristan Houle 6-2, 6-2. Kyle Burton won the first set of his match-up with Stephen Washuta before SIUE's fourth player won the next two sets to take the point. SIUE took the remaining match-ups in straight sets.

Meanwhile, the SIUE women took all their points via straight set defeats.

Both teams are set for a long stretch of road matches as they head to Eastern Kentucky for a match on Friday March, 21 at 10:00 a.m.
