FINAL RESULTS 

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State men's track and field team opened the indoor season with a solid performance at the Vanderbilt Opener. The Flying Tigers claimed 21 top 10 finishes, led by R'Lazon Brumfield's title in the triple jump.

Brumfield was in fourth place heading into his second jump. The sophomore sailed for a distance of 15.46m (50'8.75") on his second attempt to vault into the lead. Brumfield followed up his win by finishing second in the long jump. He reached 7.45m on his first attempt in the long jump, which gave him the lead with one jumper remaining in the first round. Brumfield increased his distance on his final attempt to 7.53m (24'8.50") for a second place finish. The Jacksonville, Fla. product added a 14th place finish in the 200 meters and was a member of the Tigers relay team which placed sixth.

Davonte' Mize opened his career by posting a time of 8.49, good for a fourth place finish in the 60m hurdles. Mize placed fifth in the 300 meters with a time of 36.49, one spot behind fellow freshman Montaive Lightner who crossed the line at 36.43. The duo was a part of the TSU relay squad which finished eighth.
