MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. --- The Tennessee State men's track and field team wrapped up day one of the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium with a number of strong performances.
A pair of freshmen, Thomas Mosley and R'Lazon Brumfield, posted TSU's top two finishes on the day. Mosley won the mile by clocking in at 4:35.31, while Brumfield took second place in the long jump with a mark of 7.28m (23'10.75").
In the prelims of the 110m hurdles, Jemarruse Amos and Isaiah Olige earned berths to tomorrow's finals thanks to their performances on Friday. Amos took third with a time of 14.65. Olige's time of 14.68 was good enough for fifth on the day.
The Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational will conclude tomorrow.
