MEMPHIS --- Both the men's and women's tennis teams clinched their first victories of the spring Friday evening in Memphis at the Whitehaven Tennis Center over Mississippi Valley State.

The men improve to 1-1 on the season after the shutout, clinching the doubles point with 6-1 victories at both No. 1 and No. 2. Juan Carlos Rojas Antezana claimed his first win as a Tiger, sweeping Jerrel Horner at the four spot, while veteran Stefan Koruga clinched the match with an 8-1 win at No. 3.

The Tiger women are now 1-0 on the season, sweeping the MVSU Devils, clinching the doubles point 6-0 with Morgan Cage and Ashia Jones defeating Jazzalyn Miller and Ambra Stanley at No.2. Each of the four women who competed in singles, swept her opponent, 8-0, clinching the match.

Both teams return to the Whitehaven Tennis Center tomorrow at noon for a rematch against the Mississippi Valley Devils.
