Cape Girardeau, Mo. – After two days of action at the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Cape Girardeau, on the campus of Southeast Missouri, the Tigerbelles hold the fourth spot with 30.5 points, while the Flying Tigers are ranked sixth with 23 points.
- Mikayla Thompson earned her first gold medal of the season, placing first in the discus with a throw of 47.38m (155'5"). Junior Amani Taylor earned bronze in the event with a distance of 45.18m (148'3").
- OVC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year R'Lazon Brumfield became the long jump champion with a leap of 7.56m (24'9.75"), while earning spots in the finals in the 100m clocking a 11.03 for sixth and the 200m with a time of 21.99 for fourth.
- Five Tigerbelles advances to the finals. Redshirt-sophomore Grenetria Shell finished third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:02.04 and sixth in 100m hurdles with a time of 14.40 to advance. Nigeria Starks (14.27) and Kyla Jimmar (14.62) also advanced in the 100m hurdles.
- Jamario Scott and Michael Thompson both ranked number one in the prelims in the 200m and 400m, respectively, advancing the Flying Tigers to the finals.
- Roderick Johnson, Jr. earned bronze in the long jump with a leap of 7.05m (23'1.75").
- Michael Willingham earned bronze in the hammer throw with a toss of 48.48m (159'1").
SEMO leads the men going into the final day of the championships while Murray State leads the women.
