NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State men's tennis team fell to the Lipscomb Bisons in its season opener Sunday afternoon, 6-0 at the Hadley Park Tennis Center.

The Bisons entered singles play up 1-0 thanks to a sweep of the Tigers in doubles action. Stefan Koruga and Maksims Kazijevs paired at No.1 and Leandros Misdrachis paried with newcocmer Diego Britt-Alvarez at No.2.

Lipscomb blanked the Tigers in singles action but not without a fight. Misdrachis forced a tiebreaker at No. 4, falling to Gonzalo Garcia-Nieto 3-6, 6-4, 1-6. His doubles partner Britt-Alvarez did the same at No. 2 falling 6-4, 1-6, 2-6.

The Tigers return to action Feb. 18 in Birmingham, Ala. to take on Samford at 2 p.m.
