STARTING LINE: Tennessee State cross country heads to the Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Championships hosted by Austin Peay Monday, March 1. The women hit the trails for its 5k at 12 p.m. while the men are set to compete in an 8k with the start gun sounding at 12:45 p.m.

ABOUT THE TEAMS: The Tennessee State Tigerbelles and Flying Tigers closed the regular season after the Belmont Opener in late January. The men finished 8th with junior John Frierson leading the pack with a 32:39 8K finish. The women finished 11th with senior Hope Haley leading five newcomers with a 5k finish of 27:27.63. 

THE FIELD: Austin Peay, Belmont (men and women ranked tenth in the south region), Eastern Illinios, Eastern Kentucky (men ranked 8th and women ranked 13th in the southeast region), Jacksonville State, Morehead State, Murray State, SIUE, SEMO, Tennessee Tech (men ranked 13th in the south region), Tennessee State, and UT Martin (men ranked ninth in the south region).

FANS: No fans allowed. 

UP NEXT: This marks the end of the cross country season. Coach Cheeseborough and the track and field team return to action March 19 at the UCF Invitational.
