NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State men stepped out of conference play to take on crosstown SEC opponent Vanderbilt Tuesday afternoon at the Currey Tennis Center. 

The Commodores quickly gained a 1-0 advantage, defeating Leandros Misdrachis and Daniel Perez Caraballo, 6-2, at No. 1 doubles and Stefan Koruga and Maksims Kazijevs, 6-2, at No. 2 doubles. The final doubles match went unfinished once the point was clinched. 

The Tigers struggled through singles action, leaving the afternoon with just a team-best five games won at No. 5. Leandros Misdrachis fell to Joubert Klopper 6-3, 6-2. Three Tigers bageled at least one set before the final point was scored just an hour and forty minutes later, 7-0.
