Men's Golf Closes Out Fall Slate with Sixth Place Finish

DULUTH, Ga. – The Tennessee State men's golf team competed in the HBCU Bridgestone Invitational hosted by the Black College Golf Coaches Association over the course of the past two days and finished sixth out of nine teams. TSU logged a 315 in round one and a 307 in today's second round to finish with a 623 for their two-round total.
 
Isaac Napier was TSU's top golfer as she finished tied for 11th after firing a 151 (75, 76).  Jared Southerland had a solid showing as he logged a 15th-place finish after recording a 152 (78, 74).
 
Spencer McCranie cut four strokes off his round one score this afternoon as he carded an 81 followed by a 77 today to finish tied for 26th with a 158. Cayden Chambers finished tied for 31st with a 161, (81, 80), while Carter Walton shot an 81 in both rounds to total a 162, while finishing 33rd.
 
The Tigers will be back in action in March as they will compete in the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate hosted by Tennessee Tech on March 18.
