WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Tennessee State men's tennis team picked up its first-ever postseason conference tournament win after defeating Youngstown State 4-3 in the first round of the Horizon League Men's Tennis Tournament on Friday Morning.
The Tigers, who entered the tournament as the No. 2 seed in the South Division drew Youngstown, the No. 3 seed in the North, for the second straight season as their round-one matchup. After falling 4-1 last season, TSU was able to reverse course with the 4-3 win this morning to advance to the semifinals.
YSU jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after claiming the doubles point to start the match. The Penguins picked up wins at lines one and two, while

Daniel Caraballo won 6-2 at line three.
TSU was able to post four wins in the singles portion of play to log the 4-3 win. The Tigers would fall at lines four and three to start singes play but then reeled off four straight wins marking a huge comeback.
Nil Moinet picked up the first point for TSU as he won 6-3, 6-4 at line five, followed by freshman
Christopher Bogelin picking up a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 6.
Dziopak tied the match at 3-3 after he won 6-2, 6-2 at line one. All-Horizon League Second Teamer
Taj Hibbert secured the match point for TSU after winning 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 in a three-set battle at line two.
With the win, TSU will advance to the semifinals and face the No. 1 seed in the north in Cleveland State. The match is set for tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. CT.
