BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Tennessee State women's golf team closed out play at the Samford Intercollegiate on Tuesday. The Tigers placed 10th at the 6,100-yard, Par-72 Hoover Country Club.
The University of Mississippi claimed the title ahead of the host Bulldogs. TSU shot a 384 as a team to finish at 1,128, 264-over.
Kelly Merkel (87-89-91=267) carded the low score for the Tigers during the final round and finished 52nd in the field of 65 individuals.
Laura Bremer (113-100-98=311) is the only Tiger to cut strokes in each round. The junior shaved another two strokes off her previous round.
The Tigers return to the links on Sunday, Mar. 29, as they participate in the Saluki Invite, hosted by Southern Illinois. The two-day event will consist of 18 holes each day at the Hickory Ridge Golf Club in Carbondale, Ill.
