MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. – The Tennessee State women's golf team knocked 10 strokes off their round one score, as they finished with a 229 in round two of the Ohio Valley Conference Championship Tournament on Tuesday afternoon at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at the Shoals.

The Tigers remain in 5th place with a 668 (239, 229), as they are ahead of Southern Indiana and Eastern Illinois with 18 holes remaining. TSU was forced to face windy conditions for a second straight day. "Today was just as windy, with most shots calling for an adjustment of 10-30 yards throughout the round", stated head coach Parrish McGrath.

Less than one day after receiving the program's first-ever All-OVC postseason award, Erin Marcelino broke another record on Monday as she tallied a 74, which is a new career best for the freshman. She also slides past former TSU golfer Paige Harlin who shot a 75 to claim the new lowest score in an OVC Championship event for the women's golf program. Marcelino is tied for second place with a 152 (78, 74).

Alexandra Sadler finds herself in the top 20 as she is tied for 17th with a 165 (81, 84).  Lucia Pantigozo cut 11 strokes off her round one 92 as she fired an 81 to finish in 26th with a 173 after two rounds.

Kalee Rhodes rounds out TSU's lineup with a 178 (88, 90) as she is tied for 29th with a round remaining.

The Tigers will close out the 54-hole event with the final 18 holes tomorrow morning.
