Gregory "Greg" Robinson | Baseball | 1978-83

Gregory "Greg" Robinson ranks among the greatest hitters in Tennessee State baseball history, establishing numerous school records during his career from 1978-83. A two-time All-American in 1982 and 1983, Robinson set program records for career hits (247), career doubles (47), highest career batting average (.396, minimum 200 at-bats), single-season hits (61), and single-season doubles (17 in 1983). His remarkable .445 batting average in 1982 ranked fourth nationally, while his .422 average in 1983 ranked 20th in the nation. Robinson's offensive dominance helped place Tennessee State baseball on the national stage during the early 1980s. Following his collegiate career, he signed as a free agent with the Kansas City Royals organization in 1983, capping a career that remains one of the most productive in Tigers baseball history.
